After experiencing dry conditions for more than 50 million years old, the Namib Desert is considered by experts as the world's oldest desert. Snow occurring on dry land Namibia is a very rare event. Statistics show that the snow blanketing the Namib desertevery ten years. Rare snow last year occurred in June 2011 ago that fell during the day, from 11 am until late afternoon. Meteorologistssaid the lowest temperature recorded by weather stations on that day was minus 7 degrees, in the city of Otjozondjupa.
